2003: Slovenia - marble trout & grayling

Soca is a stunning river in Slovenia. The area around Bovec is fabulous. The only downside is the number of canoes that enter the water between 10am and 5pm. So you better plan your fly fishing before or after that time window. The marble trout on the image isn't a 100% marble but a hebryde (brown x marbe). But the marble pattern on the trout is beatiful. the graying here have yellow bellies and after hook-up they jump. The area is overfished to say the least but if you pick your sports and the right hours you can have some fabulous fly fishing.
