2008: USA - cutthroat trout, carp & black bass
After the 2008 Fly Fishing Retailer show I decided to visit the Umpqua Company that I have been distributing since the start of Elbi. Dutch fishing Journalist Rudy van duijnhoven came along. We visited Umpqua in Louisville and did some fly fishing in the area. One of the things we loved to try was carp on the fly. We do this in the Netherlands too and were curious to see how to catch the USA carp. Well, they're much easier to catch that the Dutch carp. In Colorade the carp cruised the shallows for food. It was almost like bonefishing. It was strange to see that they eat big flies like crayfish immitations. A good experience under sunny skies.
