STROFT GTM is the No. 1 among monofilament fishing lines. TÜV Munich declared it the best monofilament fishing line overall, and in the US magazine THE FLYFISHERMAN, STROFT GTM was named the absolute winner in breaking strength. The main focus of tuning lies in maximizing tensile strength while simultaneously optimizing highly elastic suppleness. This process, which is continuously being further developed, mainly involves modifications to the now multi-stage tempering process—hence the abbreviation GTM (Getempertes Monofil, tempered monofilament). Likewise, the composition of the “polyamide alloy” (see catalog) is under constant development. Whenever development results show clear improvements, these are incorporated into series production after extensive testing.

Over the years, STROFT GTM—which undergoes all stages of refinement and fine-tuning—has seen continuous improvements and optimizations not only in knot strength (the most important property), but also in sliding friction, static friction, surface hardness, surface smoothness, yield point, elongation at break, low-load elongation, hook-set elongation, fighting elongation, sensitivity, feedback, memory, flexibility, suppleness, and softness.

STROFT GTM is available in diameters from 0.03 mm to 0.30 mm in very fine increments of 0.01 mm each. In the range from 0.30 mm to 0.60 mm, the increments are 0.025 mm. Even more important than the fine diameter gradation, however, is the very precise selection of breaking strengths this allows. This makes it possible to choose exactly the right STROFT GTM for every type of fishing and every application—each offering the highest possible linear and knot breaking strengths while maintaining optimal balance of all other properties.
